Job Description:
This role involves managing a team of 5 staff engaged in supporting the Net Asset Value (NAV) Production Team by producing cash reconciliations, performing cash and asset reconciliations and completing investigation on reconciliation items. It involves understanding the processes, controls, procedures and systems operating within the team, being proficient in carrying out designated functions and performing duties to an excellent standard ensuring we provide accurate and timely services to other teams and clients.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities:
- Manage Administrators, reviewing their task assignment and daily progress against agreed deliverables.
- Learn and become fully proficient on the Winnar reconciliation system, and be involved in all maintenance and run with Winnar projects.
- Ensure the production of daily cash reconciliations is completed at the agreed deadlines and that output has been checked for accuracy.
- Review any manually loaded statements for accuracy and liase with developers to get manually loaded statements automated.
- Perform daily cash and asset reconciliation to prime broker/counter-parties.
- Investigate and clear reconciliation breaks with internal departments, NAV Production Team and external parties.
- Ensure the management information system (MIS) is produced on a daily basis and that all narratives are updated on funds you have responsibility for.
- Build a significant level of client/counterparty contact to resolve outstanding issues.
Team deliverables:
- Monitor staff progress against agreed deliverables of the team.
- Coach, advise and train Administrators on the team.
- Check new fund set-ups on Winnar in advance of funds going live.
- Work with Administrators to get new feeds from existing and new custodians to the reconciliation system.
- Ensure all queries are resolved and responded to within the agreed timeframe.
- Reconcile asset balances to the counterparties, and cash balances to the prime brokers, on a daily basis. Identify breaks and investigate with the relevant internal and external parties to match un-reconciled amounts.
- Proactively follow up and work with the NAV Production Team and clients, as well as custodians and brokers to resolve missing feeds, missing balances, account set-ups and to clear breaks.
- MIS reporting.
- Create MIS on the team's performance around timelines, accuracy and volumes.
- Respond to queries raised from auditors.
- Build relationships with internal teams/departments.
Teamwork:
- Develop an understanding of all the technical functions and processes in the team.
- Take on additional tasks helping other team members who may need assistance and provide cover.
- Work with Administrators and other team members to resolve issues.
- Act as an escalation point for the more complicated issues that may arise.
- Assist in training new team members on systems, processes and procedures.
- Participate in cross training to ensure effective annual-leave cover within the team.
- Identify and communicate any training and development needs to your Assistant Manager.
- Perform duties in a professional and flexible manner by being able to multitask during busy periods.
Procedures and policies:
- Adhere to The BNY Mellon standards, procedures and controls and maintain end of day/drives in an orderly manner, suitable for review by management and auditors.
- Review company policies/procedures and notify of any operational inconsistencies or where documentation needs to be updated.
Communication:
- Adhere to agreed deadlines and immediately communicate potential delays to Assistant Manager, providing satisfactory explanations and realistic target dates for resolution.
- Communicate any suggested procedural changes to Assistant Manager.
Quality control:
- Ensure all records are stored according to agreed filing standards.
- Ensure staff adhere to appropriate quality standards.
- Assist the Assistant Manager in dealing with ad-hoc issues and streamlining operational processes to reduce risk, improve efficiency and ensure service level agreement are met. Apply Now
