Accounting & Reporting Specialist, Client Accounting & Reporting Services (CARS)
Client Accounting and Reporting Services (CARS) is a client-facing group responsible for the processing and support of complete, accurate, and timely valuation and financial statements for institutional clients. Our associates support a mix of large and complex client relationships that include daily, weekly, and monthly valued accounts. We have daily contact with clients and assist them with all of their standard and customized accounting and reporting needs, as well as supporting ad-hoc requests and projects. Since we are responsible for the ultimate reporting to the client, we interact with, and must understand the roles and functions of, many other support groups within BNY Mellon Asset Servicing. We provide extensive support of our online information delivery tools and work closely with clients’ agents (e.g. consultants, auditors) to ensure they are receiving timely and accurate information. We also support our clients’ trading and cash investment processes. Within CARS, our associates work on teams with hours ranging from 8:30-5:00 for monthly valuation to 10:00-6:30 for daily valuation.
The incumbent is responsible for the processing and support of complete, accurate, and timely valuation and financial statements for daily and monthly valued clients as well as the resolution of any problems that arise during the normal daily, weekly, or monthly valuation processes, and the communication of this information to all interested parties. S/He will be supporting a mix of large complex institutional client relationships requiring the understanding of all daily, weekly, and monthly standard and customized client accounting and reporting requirements. S/He will have frequent/daily contact with entry/mid level client staff with respect to cash, accounting, and reporting of daily and monthly client activities and initiatives. S/He will need to be able to answer all client processing, accounting, and reporting questions, either directly or through research with other functional areas, which require a solid understand of all functional groups that support CARS. S/He will provide professional support to clients and investment managers through timely and accurate trade settlements and the full investment of cash balances while minimizing risk.
