The Corporate Actions Accounting Department performs both mandatory and voluntary corporate action related accounting processing functions in over 65 markets for Bank of New York Mellon s clients. The group is responsible for managing and controlling high levels of risk and liability inherent in the various functions. The incumbent is responsible for processing both mandatory and voluntary corporate actions accounting functions related to international and US securities for all Bank of New York Mellon accounts. S/He is responsible for processing basic to moderately intricate corporate action events for multiple markets. This includes the daily interpretation, monitoring, and scrubbing of corporate action events as well as the monitoring and posting of accruals to client accounts. S/he will work on multiple Bank of New York Mellon systems including three different accounting platforms, as well as with vendor products such as Bloomberg and FT Interactive Data, to ensure the correct cost analysis; tax treatment and market impact is reviewed for each corporate action event prior to posting the actual online cash and security transactions for each account. The incumbent is responsible for adhering to established quality control measures and procedures. S/He will interact daily with external vendor support representatives, individual company investor relation contacts, and other internal business groups including Corporate Actions Custody, Service Delivery and Pricing teams. S/he is responsible for understanding market-specific requirements for corporate actions accounting processing.
