For our growing Technology Services Group  function, we are looking for proactive specialists to join the developing team in Wroclaw.

 

TECHNOLOGY SERVICES GROUP (TSG) is the central infrastructure services group with a proven track record of innovating to help BNY Mellon and its customers have most reliable, nimble and cost-effective solutions in the financial services market place. BNY Mellon BXP technology is leading edge with industry first PasS/IaaS fully integrated solution, combined with enterprise standards for developers.

 

 

TSG is building next generation scalable, efficient data center as a service using the latest innovation infrastructure. Building on top of the cloud deployments in BNY Mellon, we are aggressively automating and bridging the green field cloud with the existing virtual computing environments.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure
  • Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
  • Develop and maintain configuration management solutions
  • Develop test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the team
  • Create tools to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure
  • Understand the internals of the Linux operating system and Kernel and able to debug applications written by developers
  • Engage with application development teams on requirements and best practices as well as managing expectations

Qualifications

Systems Administrator Skills:

  • Experience with Linux servers in physical, virtualized and container environments on X86.
  • Hands-on experience is a must with RHEL 5.x, 6.x & 7.x
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with high-availability clustering is required (VCS, HACMP etc.)
  • Solid understanding of kernel level tuning
  • Strong integration experience with Host Bus Adapter and Network Interface Card deployment, Virtual Input / Output Server     
  • Deployment and utilization, and configuring network and Enterprise Storage for use with the POWER servers.
  • Strong Hardware Management Console and its use in dynamic reconfiguration of system resources such as memory and processor allocations.
  • Installation/configuration/integration execution experience of all Operating System, Infrastructure, and supporting Application software stack components.
  • Software and firmware maintenance, including upgrades and patching.
  • Provide and implement performance-tuning recommendations.
  • Develop and produce standards, /procedures, and technical diagrams for all potential Infrastructure downstream support groups to maintain and upgrade this platform.
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills must be customer focused and a team player.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, simplify technical information, and clearly communicate this information to target audiences.
  • Strong Volume Manager, TCP/IP network, SAN topology skills.
  • Scripting and automation experience using Shell, Perl, and puppet beneficial.
  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Bash & Awk; JSON is a plus
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Bind, Apache, MySQL, Postgres, nginx, etc.
  • Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt and TheForeman.
  • Familiarity with load balancing firewalls, etc.
  • Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware and ESX clustering
  • Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
  • Knowledge of servers, switches
  • College Degree and Masters preferred

Nice to Have Skills:

  • 6-8 years of enterprise AIX administration in a corporate environment.
  • T5-8 , S7 and newer Oracle Sun H/W model knowledge is a plus
  • IBM AIX 6.x, 7.1 on Power 6 & 7; P8 is a plus
  • Hands-on Solaris 8,9,10 and Solaris 11 is a plus
  • Hands-on experience and good understanding of LDOMs, CDOMs and zones required
  • Hands-on experience setting up containers in Solaris domains in version 10 & 11
  • Strong knowledge of VIO server 2.2, IBM Power Virtualization, creation and management of virtual servers
  • Experience with Live Partition Mobility and NPIV, NIM.
  • Migration experience to move existing POWER workloads to future POWER servers.
