Job Description

Cash Processing and Funds Transfer - S4 Serves as a team supervisor/work leader for the day-to-day operations for a small team of Cash Processing support staff. Guides the team and ensures processing deadlines are met. Performs day-to-day work when necessary. Allocates customers work to small team of staff and monitors workflow to maximize productivity and quality to meet deadlines and daily goals. Reviews and approves work conducted by lower level staff. Performs day to day work when needed. Researches and resolves escalated complex client inquiries received by phone and email. Leverages a strong understanding of the Cash Processing protocols and equipment. Monitors equipment to ensure maintenance and upkeep is current to provide maximum usage. Communicates with large and/or complex clients to discuss low risk pay or no pay decisions and performs adjustments. Performs leadership duties for a small team, such as workflow execution, assisting junior staff, quality control activities and other senior operator duties as assigned. Completes all reports as required accurately and on time. No direct reports. Provides guidance to less experienced Cash Processing associates as needed. Responsible for the quality and completion of own work.

 

Preferences:

Electronic Service Operations (ESO) supports file based electronic payment initiation and reporting using industry standard formats for BNY Mellon external (primarily large corporates and bank and non-bank financials) and internal clients including other departments such as AIS and Corporate Treasury. The group is responsible for managing and controlling high levels of risk and liability inherent in the automated payment and reporting functionality they provide. The applicant will be expected to support online systems error investigations, which will entail researching data in multiple formats and on multiple platforms, including  Unix, IBM Mainframe, and PC/LAN. Investigations will require the use of system directories, files, and logs for research and the candidate should possess knowledge of overall online transaction processing, be able to pinpoint problems using various payment frameworks, and communicate issues and impacts to management. S/he will investigate individual technical problems within various payment standards/methodologies including, Wire Transfer, ACH, Treasury Edge, BAI, XML and EDI X12. S/he will identify and resolve exceptions in the computer processes and communicate to affected parties. S/he will actively use procedures, process flows and technical knowledge for problem solving to perform daily production monitoring with minimal assistance in accordance to established policies and procedures.  The candidate will also be asked to work on small-to-medium individual projects.

Qualifications

High school/secondary school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelors degree preferred. 3-5 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in financial services preferred.
