Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Establishes collaborative relationships with multiple business stakeholders and external partners to align activities to key strategic objectives.
  • Manages regional adherence to processes, policies and procedures related to incident and crisis communications. Develops and manages annual planning process and results reporting to primary business stakeholders. Influences necessary resources, collaborating with internal teams to understand issues, develop messaging, obtain approvals and distribute client-facing communications. Involves others in decision making to secure buy in. Actively seeks input to make timely and well informed decisions. Considers all relevant factors and makes sound decisions. Collaborates with global peers to align messages and processes.
  • Subject matter expert. Provide advice/guidance to senior executives. Active participation within BNYM and industry-hosted events. Studies the competition and communicates across business unit and with clients.
  • Ensures standard operating procedures and policies are adhered to. Challenges the status quo to raise standards and common practices. Encourages diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation.
  • Promotes a sense of urgency and establishes individual accountability supporting functional or business initiatives. Persists in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles.
  • Coordinates with journalists on incoming inquiries related to system outages
  • Provides media statements, approved by local legal and compliance teams, for issues during escalated disruptions


  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required; advanced degree and FINRA license 7 preferred
  • 12+ years of related experience preferred; experience in the securities or financial services
