Job Description

  • Lead Resource for the Data Warehouse as a Service (DWaaS) pillar as part of Data Management and Architecture (DMA)
  • Responsible for architecting and setting design standards for nformation Delivery solutions for the EDW/DWaaS
  • Assist with managing, monitoring and supporting the EDW environment
  • Participating in database design sessions for all users of the Vertica/EDW platform
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for data warehousing strategy to ensure goals are met and designs meet / exceed requirements
  • Set best practices, standards and procedures for the DWaaS
  • Implement technology improvements
  • Work to resolve technical issues
  • Contribute to technical and system architectural planning
  • Test and implement new technical solutions
  • Work to resolve DWaaS/Information Delivery issues
  • Contribute to technical and system architectural planning
  • Be able to manage and mentor a small team, setting goals and priorities as necessary
 Leads the design of the organization's database architecture and implementation of databases. Designs logical database management structures with a focus on enhancing database performance. Develops and monitors the organization's technology architecture and future technology vision. Stays abreast of the latest technology companies and technology pertinent to the applicable engineering group. Reaches out to LOB leaders to understand the organization's database architecture performance and future database needs. Researches database architecture needs for M&A activity and supports the creation of executive summaries. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives.


Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred 10-12 years of experience in database management structure and associated technical platform architectures required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
