Job Description

Trade on behalf of BNYM clients in assigned currencies and products. Manage a book of business including risk, profit and loss, liquidity, volatility, limits, bid/ask spreads, etc. Manage currency and interest rate risk associated with completed trades. May undertake proprietary risk positions in the interbank market to profit from currency or interest rate movements as well as arbitrage opportunities. Execute or supervise the execution of client orders. Manage nostro account balances to ensure efficient funding of trading activities across multiple currencies. Provide strategic and tactical market advice to sales staff and clients. Incumbent must have an advanced knowledge of the foreign exchange market gained through applicable experience and education. Incumbent should have an in-depth understanding of global market influencers such as economic and political conditions, the balance of trade, inflation rates, government regulations, etc. Incumbent is typically seen as a subject-matter expert within the organization and is sometimes asked to provide strategic advice and direction for the unit. Incumbent must possess exceptional analytical and mathematical skills and experience with spreadsheets and data management. Incumbent typically works with very large, high-risk or complex client accounts or products. Incumbent will work independently on assignments. Incumbent receives minimal daily oversight. Incumbent is required to identify problems and provide innovative or unprecedented solutions. Incumbent's work quality and efficiency have a significant and direct impact on revenue generation. Incumbent is responsible for managing very-large net open position limits. Incumbent has direct interactions with BNYM clients. Incumbent will represent BNYM to members of the media and press.Incumbent interacts regularly with other members of the trading team. Incumbent has regular interaction with the sales team.Incumbent must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

 Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred. Completion of applicable FINRA series examinations and registration. 10 to 15 years experience.
