The position provides information and analysis reporting to Private Banking Management, Product Support, Branch Administration, Operations and Finance groups, as well as, to other BNY Mellon areas for regulatory reporting needs. Included in these responsibilities is managing the acquisition and integrity of customer and account data from multiple systems utilizing a number of different software tools.  This position provides business management with the information required to make strategic and tactical decisions as well as providing business sales and support staff with the necessary information to effectively service its customers.   This position works with software vendors and multiple systems’ areas to provide these data analysis and management capabilities.   The position develops and manages the processes necessary to analyze and maintain the integrity of the various databases.  Additionally, the position manages the work efforts of direct-report personnel.



Job Responsibilities


Provide business management, sales and support team with information:

§  Develop processes of a recurring nature to provide required information

§  Develop one-time processes to meet the strategic, tactical, marketing, and customer service needs

§  Respond to ad hoc requests from areas both within and outside the Private Banking area


Analyze and define specifications to develop/maintain Private Banking databases:

§  Identify sources of information

§  Develop functional requirements for this information


Work with vendor and systems’ areas:

§  Initiate vendor contact for problem resolution and follow-up as well as for software and database investigations

§  Maintain a working relationship with various BNY Mellon business and systems areas to understand and acquire information for PB requirements


Provide consultation to management on multiple system environments:

§  Communicate various databases’ capabilities to management to assist in new system development

§  Utilize multiple systems’ understanding to assist management in developing information for strategic and tactical decision-making

§  Keep management abreast of  issues affecting data quality   


Develop and manage processes to enhance databases and maintain their integrity:

§  Work with technology and systems areas to acquire and utilize customer/account data

§  Manage the acquisition of data from multiple sources to maintain a composite customer database

§  Provide office and administrative staff with a means to  review and maintain data integrity and accuracy

§  Identify and code business rules to enhance the database reporting capabilities


Manage direct reports in supporting these responsibilities:

§  Provide training and knowledge to direct reports in understanding database environments, tools and processes

§  Manage the tasks and projects assigned to the direct reports to support the department’s information requirements



Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related area (Master's degree preferred) with 10+ years experience in database analysis and management required. Jobholder must have prior experience working in a multi-platform environment and have significant experience utilizing numerous data analysis and reporting tools. S/he must have cross system understanding and be able to integrate this knowledge to deliver comprehensive customer information. The jobholder must have prior experience managing recurring processes, and in planning and appropriating time and resources to both new and recurring projects.
