Job Description

Manages teams of Product professionals and managers that support a the development and management of large key product or portfolio of key products. Sets the strategic direction of a particular product line. Establishes the strategic approach for the development of a product line based on broad functional goals. Guides staff in building the business case for firm offerings in the marketplace and ensures that the team stays on top of the competitive landscape and the industry environment. Provides input into the determination of key products and long term goals for the function. Responsible for driving growth and profitability of product lines they own. Manages the product life cycle from development through marketing for multiple products. Collaborates with senior leaders to implement enhancements to products that bridge gaps in firm product portfolio. Establishes the criteria for product line evaluation, pricing, promotion, distribution strategies and competitive differentiators. Collaborates with peer managers in Relationship Management/Business Development/Account Management and Marketing teams to deliver on sales and market share goals. Responsible for ensuring that all work conducted by subordinate team aligns necessary regulatory requirements. Assists staff in navigating Risk, Legal or Compliance requirements. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages a large or specialized team of professionals or multiple teams. Work is primarily accomplished through subordinate managers. Develops and oversees the achievement of area objectives. Manages the financial and human resources for the area.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience with at least 1-3 years in management preferred. Securities or financial services experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
