Senior Specialist, Product Manager - Compute Hosting Products
TECHNOLOGY SERVICES GROUP (TSG) is the central infrastructure services group with a proven track record of innovating to help BNY Mellon and its customers have most reliable, nimble and cost-effective infrastructure solutions in the financial services market place.
TSG is building next generation scalable, efficient data center as a service using the latest innovation infrastructure. Program Greenfield modernizes BNY Mellon’s infrastructure by delivering a greenfield infrastructure PaaS/IaaS layer, and transforming and migrating the apps to reduce risk and improve resiliency. This project will enable us to perform large-scale rationalization and modernization activities while supporting ongoing business projects.
Building on top of private cloud technology in BNY Mellon, we are aggressively automating and bridging the green field cloud with the existing virtual computing environments combined with enterprise standards for development best practices.
The Greenfield Product Manager will be responsible for leading and providing strategic direction on development and delivery of Compute Hosting products in Greenfield from the physical hardware through virtualization and orchestration to application deployment.
Responsibility of technology stack includes management and automation of newly deployed operating systems, cloud management platform, orchestration layer, and security tools. This role will liaise with application development and other infrastructure teams to deliver integrated new technology and migrate applications into Greenfield.
Will lead monthly forums on the design and development of product standards and rollout. Is highly familiar with product competitors, technology trends, and market status. Act as a client point of contact for Compute Hosting products. Responsible for analyzing, defining, and changing the product's strategy based on usage metrics and reports. Prioritizes product requirements and further investigates product feasibility. Determines project responsibilities and scope.
Key responsibilities include:
- CEO and face of the Compute Hosting Products for Greenfield.
- Be involved in design, delivery, and onboarding to Greenfield environment for Application Development.
- Work with Engineering teams to ensure all new products are properly documented with technical specifications and user instructions for immediate consumption.
- Host information sessions to introduce Application Development to new compute hosting products in Greenfield.
- Develop monthly metrics and product analytics dashboards to show Greenfield adoption.
- Collect user feedback and feedback into engineering lifecycle.
- Work with the centralized TSG Product Management team to develop marketing and engagement strategies along with a communication plan on Greenfield Compute Hosting products.
Senior Specialist Business Analysis Consultant->> Consults with stakeholders to analyze, define, challenge and prioritize the business requirements, functional specifications and operational architecture for a functional work stream within a highly complex strategic, global program. Formulates and defines program scope and objectives for the work stream with thorough understanding of business processes in a specific business domain. Tailors standard processes and templates for team to elicit, challenge, and prioritize requirements, and translates into functional design and use case models. Develops project scope, objectives, constraints and assumptions for a large, strategic, multi-year program. Prepares and manages the project plan, issues and risks, and is accountable for overall delivery of their assigned functional work stream on a large-scale program. Provides guidance in development of the technical design, test plans, and user documentation. Leads implementation/conversion strategy planning and implementation. Manages scope and change throughout the initiative utilizing formal change control and requirements traceability. Gathers and analyzes information and develops recommendations to address strategic business objectives that span multiple, global business and technology areas. Participates in industry forums and keeps current on domain knowledge for their specific business and application areas of expertise. Applies experiences across various software and/or systems development processes to define and collect metrics and identify and implement opportunities for improvement to increase quality of requirements and speed time-to-market. Actively influences software and/or systems development process improvement initiatives. Contributes to the achievement of related area objectives.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in business management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.
- Eight to ten (8-10) years of related product ownership experience is required.
- Experience with technology or financial services industry is a plus.
- Experience with Client Relationship Management and Business Requirements Gathering.
- Grasp of IT architectural concepts as they relate to Operating Systems and Hardware.
- Experience with Compute Hosting products - Virtualization – Vmware, Bladelogic; Operating Systems – RHEL 7.4 , Windows 2016; Cloud Management – CloudBolt, BMC Cloud Lifecycle Manager; Orchestration – Ansible, Puppet.
