Job Description

GCCS provides technology development and support for the core engines and associated applications of the following shared Custody and Cash services: Global Securities Settlements, Global Trade Capture, Global Portfolio Services, Global Cash Services, Securities Data Services, and Operational Data Services. GCCS also supports reconciliations across the company through its Enterprise Reconciliation Services

 

Securities Data Service is a provider of reference and market data to many business lines within BNY Mellon.  Our group is seeking an experienced and motivated Sr. Group Manager with a proven track record of successfully delivering large scale technology solutions.  This is a management role that will require strong technology skills, effective leadership abilities and business acumen.     

 

Primary Job Responsibilities to Include: 

  • Oversee technology programs through successful implementation and within schedule and budget.
  • Lead the transition of our critical business systems to scalable, highly available and resilient solutions.
  • Create and execute on strategic technology plans that meet or exceed our customers changing needs.
  • Effective resource planning and management for co-located teams.


Sr.Group Manager, Project/Program Management->> Manages large or multiple teams of project managers who are the primary contact for clients and groups within the organization for medium to large scale projects. The team is responsible for end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation. Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technical groups to ensure delivery of medium scale to large scale projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Has regular contact among peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations. Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy. Ensures project delivery is in conformance with company methodologies and standards. Acts as a subject matter expert and provides guidance on complex technical issues. Proactively manages multiple teams of project managers. Leads status meetings for major projects and facilitates risk mitigation and resolution of more complex issues. Directs recruitment efforts and manages and develops teams to maximize their collective contributions. Motivates lower level managers to maximize their contributions and encourage professional growth. Manages multiple project management teams. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives. 

Qualifications

  • Experience managing development teams or projects of 10+ members required.
  • Strong distributed technology background and must remain up to date with emerging technologies and trends.
  • Candidate should have experience with vendor management, solid negotiation skills and an understanding of Third-Party Governance.
  • Must have excellent planning and execution abilities, along with communication and presentation skills.
  • PMP, CSM or other credentials a plus.
Advanced degree, preferably in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 10 + years of related project management experience required, experience with technology and/or the financial services industry is a plus. Prior experience managing projects of 10+ team members required
