Job Purpose:

 

The objective of this newly created global role is to oversee post trade reconciliation and query management of the Foreign Exchange settlement cycle.  The role will have cross regional oversight and management responsibilities.

 

The FX Investigations Global Lead Manager will have excellent management experience and the ability to drive organisational efficiency. Strong leadership skills are necessary with the ability to drive the department forward and bring about change where necessary. The incumbent will be adept in all aspects of team management with a keen attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communications skills with a desire to deliver first class service internally and externally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Management and motivation of a growing team across EMEA, NA and APAC; managing, training and development of staff, monthly 1:1’s and semi-annual performance reviews, implementing personal development plans for all team members.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement; implementation of an enhanced CPI model for Operational errors, consequence model and mitigating actions for errors.
  • Candidate would be accountable for error trend analysis and driving innovative approaches to mitigation. Responsible for reducing global query volume by identifying problem areas and collaborating with stakeholders in order to enhance their knowledge.
  • Engagement in regional and global project initiatives that may impact the functional processes owned.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day oversight and participation of workflow responsibilities within the team globally.
  • Responsible for gathering accurate global statistics tracking outstanding exception and query volumes.
  • Maintain written procedures for the team.
  • Acts as first point of escalation and escalates through the chain as appropriate.
  • Acts as deputy for the Group Manager when requested.

Qualifications

Successful candidates will possess the following (or equivalent qualifiers):

  • Ability to lead and deliver change initiatives

  • Product Knowledge including understanding of trade flows and associated risk

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Well organised and able to work under pressure in order to meet tight deadlines and stakeholder expectations

  • Ability to work without close supervision, organise, manage and prioritise work 

  • Proactive nature, be able to identify and analyse issues

  • Strong client service ethic

  • An understanding of the fundamentals of risk, control assessments and protocols.

  • Proven influencing skills required to ensure prompt realisation of deliverables;

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and develop appropriate procedures;

Desired:

 

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in one of the following areas:

  • Managing staff in multiple locations

  • Global oversight of a function or team

  • Reconciliations
