Prin, Credit Risk
Directs risk management efforts for the assigned credit risk focus, and customizes solutions knowledge of best practices and growing industry experience. Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of documentation and reporting completed by more junior professionals. Contributes to the global identification of existing and emerging risks that are applicable to the assigned credit risk discipline and implements solutions. Ensures the proper documentation is completed when strategy changes are made. Primary duty is as follows: Independently completes complex analyses of industry and counter party credit portfolios and credit portfolio quality. Interacts frequently and independently with senior portfolio managers. Directs less experienced professionals in completing legal documentation processes and structuring term sheets and deals. Independently completes complex documentation and reviews documentation drafts completed by less experienced professionals. Attends and may contribute to meetings with clients, other banks, multi-bank credit facilities and peers within the industry.
Assigns analysis activities to more junior professionals. Contributes to the development of organization-wide projects and programs to improve risk management for the assigned risk discipline. Directs assessments of the effectiveness of current risk identification and mitigation projects and may recommend additional credit risk training within the business. Contributes to the development of discipline-specific education activities, as needed. Uses growing industry experience and knowledge of best practices to contribute to the development of the global strategy for analyzing industry counter party credit quality for the assigned credit risk discipline.
Implements new, approved risk management solutions that comply with regulatory requirements. Uses strong working relationships with global regulators and management to influence risk management activities for the assigned credit risk discipline, to ensure the timely delivery of information to regulators and to increase the likelihood of favorable conditions for the organization's credit activities. Directs efforts to design remedial solutions and may assign remediation tasks. Contributes to reports on credit quality and asset value changes for the assigned credit discipline. No direct reports; provides guidance to more junior team members and assigns tasks.
QualificationsBachelor's degree or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA preferred. 10-12 years of total work experience preferred. Prior experience/background in credit risk preferred. In addition, may require the following experience/skills based on primary duties: Formal credit training preferred. Ability to assist with the management of diverse lending, operating products, attendant risk, insolvency and/or bankruptcy. Experience with borrower rating systems and tracking methodologies. Experience with Insurance Analysis is a plus.

Risk and Compliance provide risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses. Organizationally, Risk and Compliance includes the following groups: Risk Management, Compliance, Global Corporate Security, Information Risk Management and Global Business Continuity.
