Job Description

The Financial Reporting Department within BNY Mellon is responsible for the preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statements for our clients and for the management of all aspects of the audit process. The Department has responsibility for a broad range of funds and produces financial statements under various GAAPs like Irish GAAP, IFRS, Lux GAAP and US GAAP. Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the preparation and review of the first draft financial statements for a range of funds administered by BNY Mellon are produced in an accurate, timely and efficient manner.

Key roles and responsibilities of the position are as follows below:

Supports and processes the most complex accounting statements on behalf of BNY Mellon clients. Serves as team lead for multiple teams and provides work direction for the teams.

 

Assigns work to team members and more junior team leads in accordance with client priorities and regulatory deadlines. Ensures more junior team leads are aware of and meeting deadlines.

 

Provides and requests the most complex data and information needed to complete the fund reports.

 

Reviews work of more junior colleagues and researches and resolves the most complex errors. Reaches out to appropriate team members to obtain needed information.

 

Maintains a large quantity of records relating to assigned entities of the highest complexity in accordance with department policies and procedures and the applicable Corporate and any applicable regulatory standards. Ensures team members and more junior team leads adhere to Corporate and any applicable regulatory standards. Leads more junior team leads in the development of processes to improve record management to maintain information and data needed for reports, improving team efficiency.

 

Provides guidance to less experienced staff and more junior team leads; may serve as the team leader for multiple teams of support staff. Supports the achievement of team objectives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience: Qualified (CA or CPA) or Semi Qualified with 5 years of work experience in Financial Reporting.
