Job Description

Principal Technology Strategist- Finance/Tech

Provides technology direction for the business units supported. Contributes to the development of an overall technology plan and development roadmap that will support the growth planned across the IT organization. Designs, performs and oversees a wide range of larger scale strategic projects, directing and formulating recommendations and obtaining stakeholder buy-in. Provides solutions to complex business problems for areas of responsibility where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Utilizes comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within technology to achieve project objectives. Guides and consults with teams during technical planning process. Creates and communicates business case for emerging technologies. Identifies important technology areas for development. Remains aware of contemporary concepts in IT strategy and management. Defines analytical frameworks for visioning and assessing strategic options. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Domain knowledge in Banking/Financial Services Industry along with Technology orientation a plus

Should have ability to interact with experts, CxOs, hold meaningful conversations and shape value propositions

 

Strong quantitative skills, particularly building complex Excel models

Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize and convey key insights from analysis in presentations and emails

High degree of comfort working in an unstructured environment and ability to work well under pressure

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred 10-12 years of related experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

 

Candidates should ideally have an MBA and have a strong background in IT Consulting/Analytics/Defining Roadmaps or prior experience developing IT Strategy in a CIO office with 7-10 years of experience

Domain knowledge in Banking/Financial Services Industry along with Technology orientation a plus

Should have ability to interact with experts, CxOs, hold meaningful conversations and shape value propositions

Outstanding research and analytical skills: ability to synthesize large sets of data and integrate into meaningful reports and recommendations

Strong quantitative skills, particularly building complex Excel models

Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize and convey key insights from analysis in presentations and emails

High degree of comfort working in an unstructured environment and ability to work well under pressure
