Job Description

Drives global communications strategy for BNY Mellon’s Clearing, Markets, Client Management and Issuer Services units by establishing a strategic vision and identifying and pursuing key opportunities that advance and protect the reputation of the business and company and that strengthen engagement of employees, media and key external stakeholders.   Accountable for providing strategic direction to a global team of internal, external and executive communications professionals and for overseeing the creation of strategies to support the firm's key strategic initiatives and businesses through targeted, timely communications.   Provides strategic communications counsel to senior leaders, including business line CEOs. Partners with other communications and marketing leaders to ensure alignment, coordination and a cohesive narrative.    Coaches, guides and manages the performance of assigned professional staff and managers.   Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required. 


 Minimum Experience: 15 years of progressively increasing communications experience in planning and executing communications strategies for global financial services firms. Demonstrated strategic communications planning and distribution strategy capabilities. 

  Strategic, innovative thinker with the ability to see emerging trends and the big picture, with equal ability in successfully driving projects from development to completion. Superior project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities with flawless execution. Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate and manage communications professionals (internally and externally) to achieve outstanding results. Strong written and oral communication skills. Results-driven individual who establishes high standards for personal accountability. Demonstrated ability to manage changing requirements and short timelines.  Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Executive presence to effectively partner with senior management is critical.
