Newton, Team Administrator/Reporting Analyst

To effectively provide dedicated administrative and Board/Committee reporting support to the Newton Risk team.
The Risk team provides robust oversight on behalf of the Newton Board in order to identify and mitigate risks to our business and provides the bulk of the secretarial support to the Newton governance forums, including the Board and Board Risk Committee. The Departments core activities include:
ensuring that: all business areas of Newton comply with the relevant UK and US regulations,
the key operational, strategic, investment and emerging risks the business faces are identified and assessed,
the business is aware of and takes appropriate action to respond to the risks identified, and that
the management information presented to boards and committees is relevant, clear and concsise.
The successful candidate will work with the Risk team (comprised of the following teams: Company Secretary, Compliance, Operational Risk, Investment Risk and Performance), supporting these teams in the identifying, analysing, escalating and presenting of risk issues to the governance forums, and challenging the business in its approach to mitigating or accepting those risks.
- Proactive administrative assistance of the Risk team:
- Assisting in the production of presentations and materials required for the various projects in flow
- Organise external and internal meetings and appointments
- Travel co-ordination and expenses
- General clerical duties including filing, photocopying and scanning
- Provide other administrative support as and when required
- Proactive involvement in projects on an ad hoc basis as required
- Board/Committee reporting support to the Risk team:
- Creation, production and collation of committee and board reports and meeting packs
- Minute preparation and follow ups with action owners to ensure completion of required tasks
- Assisting in the administration of board and other committee meetings, ie following up on papers required and signatories for any actions required
- Preparing, reviewing and distributing the regular reports required from the Newton Risk Department
- Completion of filings required under the UK and US regulatory regimes and Companies Act 2006 requirements
- To liaise with senior managers in other areas of the business, as required
- To display a positive approach to Risk and Compliance matters and to adhere to Newton’s Compliance Manual
- To represent Newton in the marketplace as required
Graduate calibre in a business-related field or equivalent service experience preferred.
Experience in the Financial Services industry.
Excellent IT skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint and experience of using pdf writer tools.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to ensure effective interaction with Executives across investment management.
A focus on accuracy and attention to detail at all times in the completion of tasks
Ability to work in a confidential environment
Excellent organisational skills
