Job Description

Scope of Role:

The role requires an individual to play multiple roles like:

·         Creating complex queries on ADHOC Basis using various Joins

·         Creating stored procedure, maintain triggers and scripting

·         Knowledge of DB backups and restores

·         Understanding of complex data structures

·         Good to have a knowledge on job scheduling like ESP

·         Application/Production Support Analyst and  represent the Production Support organization

·         Monitor process and software changes that impact production support

·         Day to day maintenance of application systems in

o    operation,

o    identifying and troubleshooting application issues

o    resolution or escalation within SLAs

o    root cause analysis

·         Good in communication skills

·         Provide daily support with resolution of escalated tickets and act as liaison to ensure issues are resolved in timely manner

·         Ensures all production changes are made in accordance with life-cycle methodology and risk guidelines

·         Responsible for coaching and mentoring team members and acting as a subject matter expert

·         Prioritize workload, providing timely and accurate resolutions

·         Participate in knowledge transfer to ensure better grasp of the product and domain

·         Suggest fixes to complex issues by doing a thorough analysis of root cause and impact of the defect.

·         Coordinate with Application Development Team to successfully deploy software releases in both User Acceptance Testing and Production environments

·         Willingness to work in UK hours, weekend & on-call support on requirement basis

·         Collaborate with internal business groups to provide innovative software solutions and design effective support processes

Technical Skills:

C#/ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server, and Windows

Preferably to have knowledge on any BPM tool

 

Must Have

  • Graduate  or post-graduate in Computer Science
  • 3 to 9 years of experience in supporting enterprise applications for financial service firms
  • Strong knowledge of object oriented programming, writing complex SQL queries, database maintenance

-preferably in MS-SQL server (C# and ASP.Net, MS-SQL)

  • Strong communication skills, both face to face and with remote locations
  • Expertise in Test driven development
  • Excellent refactoring skills

 

Prefer candidates with

  • Previous experience as software developer, tester or in production support.
  • Understanding of capital markets, financial products, risk management
