Job Description

Enterprise Data Service (“EDS”) is the centralized data hub between sources and consumers, enriching, transforming, and delivering data across the company. It sources “broad & granular” data once from source systems and distributes multiple times in both batch and real time.  The role of EDS is to ingest data from myriad data sources and integrate it into a common repository using processes and functions which ensure the integrity, timeliness, and quality of that data. 


EDS was designed and developed as a Java-based micro-services architecture.  We are looking for an Engineering Manager with a strong background in Java, technical/application architecture and software development management. This candidate will be part of the Data Management and Architecture (DMA) Team and be responsible for managing the EDS Service, designing and implementing several solutions and enhancements within the platform. The ideal candidate has experience in managing an application development team, and leading all phases of technology delivery. Responsibilities include resource management, project initiation, project delivery, working/collaborating with application operations/support, QA testing and product owners. Candidate has ideally matured from a hands on development and architecture background into a development management position.  Candidate should be able to drive projects from end to end with solid enterprise architectural patterns, quality code and highly resilient deployments. Core skills include:

  • 10+ years of JAVA programming, architecture and Java design patterns
  • Solid knowledge of application technology stacks in Java implementation within critical enterprise projects
  • Excellent knowledge on infrastructure technology
  • Background and strong understanding of concurrent processing of high volumes of data, asynchronous messages processing, big data processing design patterns and highly responsive applications with high resiliency across multiple data centers
  • Data Architecture concepts, including Data Modeling
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Data and Business Analysis acumen
  • Principles of data governance in the context of financial services
  • REST API development and Micro-services development
  • Kafka streaming data development 
  • Enterprise Service Bus experience (TIBCO, MULE, WS02 or other)
  • Strong understanding of DLC methodologies, including Agile


Sr.Group Manager, Data Management->> Manages multiple teams in the planning, design and development of the corporate information bank. Manages analysis of application data requirements for new and enhanced data processing applications and the development of conceptual and logical models of the data as a prerequisite for physical database design. Responsible for managing multiple development projects, often global in scope. Directs and provides guidance on the analysis and design of data models and logical databases at the data element level consistent with the corporate architectural models. Directs multiple teams in the development of logical database designs across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, client server, distributed systems, Web, e-commerce). Analyzes current business practices, processes, and procedures and helps to identify future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities as well as reducing redundant data processes. Leads analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential usage and impact on the business unit and organization. Monitors compliance with procedures, policies and standards relating to database management. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages multiple data modeling/warehousing teams. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives.





  • Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 12+ years of experience in data modeling/warehousing with related management experience
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
