Principal, Corporate Tax – Income Tax Accounting

Job Description

Works with senior management roles to ensure that the appropriate corporate tax policies, methods, standards, processes, reporting and training are developed, applied and understood by impacted stakeholders. Extensive knowledge of corporate tax processes and in-depth knowledge of tax support requirements within a particular business/business partner area. Represents Corporate Tax in federal and state audit proceedings, works with tax, legal counsel and external accounting firms to gather facts and develop strategies to ensure compliance with SOX procedures. Assembles, maintains and analyzes domestic and international tax information used in the preparation of various tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments. Performs complex research and analysis of the tax law, regulations and cases to provide senior management with recommendations and opinions by applying tax concepts. Works with management to identify the most relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Monitors and manages business performance and reviews and ensures accuracy with the metrics tracking mechanisms and develops solutions from the outcomes of the scorecard reporting. Oversees, mentors and trains junior tax staff on specific aspects of tax law, tax reporting, accounting, and compliance matters. No direct reports. Oversees, advises and guides less experienced Corporate Tax roles and may direct their work. Responsibilities are primarily specialized to address the corporate tax needs for major global initiatives, platinum clients, or material events. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements.   Candidates should be proficient in all aspects of income tax accounting. Successful candidate will have senior responsibility for assembling, maintaining and analyzing domestic and international tax information used in the preparation of various financial statements, regulatory reports and tax returns. Successful candidate will be required to provide functional guidance to subordinates and be responsible for developing and maintaining documentation for internal and external audits.  Successful candidate will lead various aspects of quarterly tax provision process.


Bachelor s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. MBA, CPA, and/or MST is preferred. Preferred experience includes: Successful candidate will have extensive tax and accounting knowledge obtained through 7-10 years of experience with a large CPA firm or corporate tax department and the ability to present research results to Senior Management.  Successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills and supervisory experience.  Experience using OneSource tax software is preferred. 10-12 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in tax compliance or accounting preferred.
