Job Description

  • Developing software needed for resiliency, cybersecurity, and Greenfield projects
  • Providing High Availability, resilient, and modern architectural solutions for a high volume, message processing financial application.
  Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Design and code application software development services under the SDLC life cycle.
  • Work collaboratively with the business to understand requirements.
  • Interfaces with enterprise architects to ensure solution complies with organizational needs and goals.
  • Design, code, test and implement application software in a cloud based environment interfacing with both mainframe and distributed applications.
  • Configure servers for new Cloud partition VMs
  • Design and develop screens for application user interface
 

 

 

Sr. Specialist Developer->> Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.     Additional Skills:  
  • Deep understanding of the software development life cycle.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent problem solver and self-starter.
  • Able to articulate complex solutions through technical discussions.
  • Can work collaboratively to perform complex troubleshooting, root-cause analyses, and solution development.
  • Experience in working with business analysts, project managers and technical architects in multiple geographical areas.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the Agile methodology for Software Development (prefer Scrum) a plus.
  • Experience in financial institutions and knowledge of SWIFT message processing and products a plus.
