QualificationsCounsel is an experienced attorney that is highly competent in his/her area of practice. He/She should have strong leadership skills, to motivate and direct individuals. He/She must have strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate and interact with individuals on different levels both internal and external to the Legal Department. Directly manages matter work and oversees outside counsel. Three plus years of experience as a practicing employment attorney preferred. Must have strong working knowledge of federal, state and city employment laws and regulations and provide ability to capably advise, counsel and train clients on the same. The candidate must also have strong negotiation and employment litigation experience as well as experience in handling charges of discrimination filed with federal, state and city human rights commissions. The candidate must have the demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and drive them to conclusion in a timely manner. Also, the candidate must have deep experience drafting and negotiating employment and separation agreements.
