The Operational Risk Project Manager reporting to the Head of Enterprise Operational Risk Aggregation (EORA), is responsible for the project management for the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) program, which is a multi-year program across multiple functions, namely Operational Risk, Compliance, Audit and the business. GRC is the practice of managing Governance, Risk, & Compliance processes and strategy in an effective and efficient manner, leveraging the tools, data sources and processes in the environment. The aim of the project is to assist in managing non-financial risks in an effective and efficient manner across the enterprise. This will reduce redundancies and increase efficiencies in work load, with an enhanced understanding of the impact of risk on business performance. The role will predominantly focus on project management across the 2nd and 3rd LOD.
Enterprise Operational Risk Aggregation (EORA) is responsible for generating the enterprise level Operational Risk analysis for BNY Mellon overall, that will help Executive Management, the Board, select Legal entities, regulators and the business understand the enterprise operational risk portfolio to inform strategic decision making. Consequently the following skills are required or ability to work towards these:
An understanding of how the Organization works and how the different functions interact will be essential as a success factor for this role, as it requires an understanding of how the various functions operate versus the GRC target operating model.
A reasonable understanding of the broader industry and commercial environment will be required to ensure we are appropriately benchmarking our progress against best practice. This can be accomplished by reading various industry journals, attending relevant conferences and targeted research
This role will encounter challenges in assisting with coordinating a complex project and dealing with various stakeholders across the organization. Innovative solutions/ thinking will be required to overcome potential obstacles, for example, aligning standards across the various lines of defense. Consequently:
· Due to the complexity of the project, the project manager must have a strong understanding of operational risk management (risks and controls), and the workings of the 3 Lines of Defense. Experience working in other lines of defense would also be helpful to the role.
· Past experience of implementing GRC is preferred.
· Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
· Intelligent, team-oriented, hard-working and an attention to detail.
QualificationsBachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 12-15 years of total work experience preferred.

Risk and Compliance provide risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses.
