Contributes to the execution and communication of the CSR/Social Investing strategy to internal and external stakeholders. With occasional guidance, is responsible for managing the production of some board committee materials and rating and ranking submissions from throughout the organization, including obtaining difficult legal, risk, compliance and communications approvals, which contribute to the execution of the CSR/Social Investing strategy. Projects are typically medium-sized. May serve as the lead for smaller projects and assign tasks to less experienced professionals. Applies excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with others. May assist with the communication of a comprehensive and cohesive CSR/Social Investing strategy and infrastructure for identifying and cataloguing Social Investing activity across the organization. Plays a role in the creation of the annual CSR report. May contribute to the development of the proposal and rationale for impact investing fund and Social Investing strategic partner selection. Leads several administrative functions.. Escalates highly complex situations to more experienced professionals. Continues to develop communication channels with several SME areas to collaborate on monitoring of annual goals and, in some cases, to drive business analyses and that help to influence changes in approaches that better align the business with CSR/Social Investing goals. Serves on a team of professionals supporting the development of board committee presentations. Reviews more complex work with more experienced professionals to confirm accuracy and improve quality. Applies a high level of knowledge of the external and internal CSR/Social Investing field/Philanthropy and an understanding of how business objectives impact the company's performance to connect the firm's business agenda with broader reputational and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) issues. With some guidance, completes assigned activities pertaining to the Global Philanthropy program, developing, managing, planning, and administering in the following areas: non-foundations related grant and sponsorship programs. Provides external support for corporate events and BNYM partnerships. Assists with the management of donor relationships, assessment of potential new partners, and determination of the feasibility of new sponsorships and other initiatives. May provide guidance to less experienced professionals. This person will face off to and work with senior leadership and executive committee members.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. MBA, Master's of Public Policy, or other relevant graduate degree focusing on social responsibility preferred. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
