Job Description

Specialist Telecommunications Consultant->> Conducts research and analysis in support of emerging technologies. Responsible for the specification, design, implementation and support of complex telecommunication systems and networks. May allocate/coordinate work within a team/project. Conducts network architecture planning and the development and maintenance of technical standards and network practices. Manages the specification/design, procurement and setup of telecommunications hardware. Provides performance analysis of software, hardware and network systems. Troubleshoots highly complex telecommunications hardware and software problems. Responsible for the specification, design, consolidation and support of the local communications network. Plans and oversees the implementation of new technology and systems. Consults with users, administrators, and engineers to identify business and technical requirements for proposed system modifications or technology purchases. Communicates with telecommunications vendors to obtain pricing and technical specifications for available hardware, software, or services. Evaluates services/products as possible solutions for future requirements or as a replacement/upgrade to existing network. Develops and leads implementation of telecommunications disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives.

Qualifications

Video Network Operations Center

  • Provide technical guidance and support for (2) Audio Visual Techs and (2) VNOC support staff.
  • Provide logistics and technical support for Global Town Hall meetings, corporate training sessions, and webcasts.
  • Assist with the training of users on new forms of technology available within the bank, such as WebEx CMR .
  • Schedule, manage and provide worldwide tier 1 support for 40-50 video conference calls per day using CISCO Telepresence Management Suite (TMS) and Polycom RMX 2000 MCU.
  • Work with the Engineering team on design, implementation, and commissioning of new multimedia rooms on the Pittsburgh campus.
  • Assist with audiovisual and video conference support throughout the Pittsburgh campus, which includes over 60 multimedia conference rooms across two buildings.

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required, 6-8 years of experience in designing, evaluating, implementing and supporting major, high-traffic networks and inter-networking strategies required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
