Senior Director- Global Fiduciary Services
QualificationsExperience in business development, thought leadership, offshore and onshore trust administration and planning are critical. Strong technical skills in wealth planning are required especially as it relates to onshore and offshore trust structures, as well as, interpersonal skills, diplomacy, a sensitivity to other cultures, and a global mindset. Must be able to work with internal partners such as Risk, Legal, Tax, Compliance and Account Opening departments, as well as, directly with clients and their advisors. The ability to work in a team is important and equally as important is the ability to own and take the lead on projects. Develops and implements the strategy for assigned business unit or region. Owns the business development pipeline and campaign management for business unit/region. Ensures that subordinate managers effectively develop an operating model/procedures to execute the strategy. Oversees and engages in development within fiduciary services. Sets the standards for dealing with unprecedented, complex or intricate issues regarding prospect needs, deal structure, negotiations, priorities, compliance, regulations, etc. Reviews structures ensuring optimal terms for both the client and the firm and mitigating risk where necessary. Ensures deals are compliant with all regulations. Ensures staff have access to the right firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure the most appropriate response to prospect proposals and deal structure. Compliance and relationship management with internal and external parties, including regulators and internal control groups. Advises/partners team within multi-jurisdictional families. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Continually coaches and monitors skill development of the team, ensuring that team members have access to and take advantage of formal and informal training opportunities, foster mentorships, etc. In depth knowledge of the international fiduciary business and its role within the international wealth management business. In depth understanding of the issues faced by multi-generational and multi-jurisdictional families. Strong, working familiarity with the regulatory environment governing the international fiduciary business. Knowledge of all key internal BNY Mellon operations, corporate governance and external regulations. Familiarity with the conversant in international affairs. Strong client skills. Ability to identify and articulate client needs and translate the needs into workable medium - term plans incorporating the appropriate jurisdiction. Ability to work in partnership with client relationship teams in delivering IWM services in a holistic manner. Strong project management skills; ability to successfully organize and complete multiple projects on time and on budget. Develop markets for fiduciary services in Asia, E&ME and Latin America. High degree of interaction with clients and their professional advisors. Active, ongoing involvement with all key client relationships. International travel. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Well developed client skills - ability to work effectively with multi-generational and multi-jurisdictional families. Ability to work effectively with professional advisors in multiple jurisdictions. Successful experience managing a small specialist team that is an integrated part of a broader international wealth management business. Ability to successfully represent the business with governmental bodies in multiple jurisdictions. Ability to successfully represent the business at external events.
