Client Technology Solutions (CTS) has a mission to provide our business partners with technology based solutions that enhance their ability to be successful through world-class software solutions maintained on a stable and secure infrastructure, and to provide our employees with the tools and means to enhance their professional qualifications and careers.   Digital Transaction Engine (DTE) is a single place to capture and repair client custody and accounting trades.  DTE will provide a stream-lined operational model for the trade capture process and will eliminate duplicative processing.  A project goal is for users to only go to one place to repair a trade, improving operational efficiencies.      DTE is being built using a modern technology stack including:  Java8, Spring and Spring Boot, Activiti, Kafka, BXP (BNYM internal cloud), Hazelcast, Restful API's, Jenkins, Sonar, Nexen (open-source, cloud-based technology platform) and AngularJS.   DTE is being developed as an Agile project and we are leveraging Scrum to deploy new functionality to the user community (NY, UK, Pune) every 2 weeks.   This team has an opportunity available for a Lead Developer who has experience with the software development life cycle.  The candidate will develop software as well as interact with the business users. A typical day starts with a short scrum meeting followed by breakout design sessions or pairs programming or individual programming.  DTE folks interact with many infrastructure groups within BNY Mellon as well as other internal application groups.  DTE team members enjoy the freedom of speaking to business users directly to ensure requirements/feedback are clearly understood.  DTE team members vary in experience from junior developers thru senior developers, and sit right with a business liaison.  The work is challenging and dynamic.  A good team player is a must!   Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Partner with the other members of the Agile project team to provide software solution and technical support to meet business function needs.
  • Provide support to and work collaboratively with the business product owner and other members of the Agile team.
