Job Description

With minimal guidance, helps ensure compliance with facilities management best practices and contributes to providing a clean and safe facility by performing or managing vendors/contractors in a variety of advanced building management and equipment maintenance duties requiring specialized training/certification. Guides internal or external maintenance and repair personnel in the execution and delivery of effective and correct installations and repairs. May recommend process improvements to management. Assigned facility is typically large and complex; incumbents should demonstrate knowledge of all the facilities layouts and an understanding of unique configurations or equipment such as data centers, kitchen/food storage, etc. Ensures activities are in compliance with OSHA, H&S, and related standards. Incumbents are building breadth of knowledge on facilities management best practices and have a basic understanding of the company's policies and legal requirements. Diagnoses maintenance issues, makes advanced repairs (often in an area of expertise/specialized training) and ensures that service requests are executed in a timely manner. Coordinates and collaborates with other functions within the organization to ensure facilities services needs are met and appropriate maintenance levels are maintained. Orders replacement/new equipment as needed. Initiates arrangements with outside service technicians as needed. Monitors ongoing or emergency/critical facility activities and contributes to successful resolutions. Monitors work orders and maintenance tracking system. May contribute to long range facilities maintenance planning and capital/equipment requirements. Reports maintenance requirements, potential equipment failures and unsafe conditions to senior management. Contributes to the sustention of a safe culture and mindset among employees, contractors and service providers. Serves as a resource for advanced technical questions and provides guidance, training and mentorship to less experienced facilities maintenance staff. Assists more senior team members with vendor management and management of contractual payments for all facilities and properties owned by the company. Contributes to the assessment of vendor performance and may recommend terminations of or changes to vendor services. No direct reports. Job scope is primarily limited to the achievement of daily work objectives of the team. Contributes to the achievement of area/functional goals. Modified based upon local regulations/requirements. Bachelor s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Additional technical training in HVAC, Electrical Systems, Plumbing, or Mechanical Systems is preferred. 3-5 years of total work experience preferred.
