Job Description

Corporate Actions

Overseeing the Corporate Actions Unit, responsible for a greater number of Management Companies.  In addition to a complete knowledge of Corporate Actions, expected to have a thorough understanding of Transfer Agency Operations and Systems, as well as a solid knowledge of the Mutual Fund Industry as a whole.  Participation in projects/initiatives both within and outside of the Control division may also be required. 

Accountability to both internal and external clients may also be required.  Responsible for staff training and professional development, including coaching, feedback, and delivery of annual Employee Performance Evaluations.  Attend PIC calls as required.  

Financial Control

Overseeing the Financial Control Unit. Ensure that appropriate coverage for all settlements and reconciliations is in place each day for a mid to large size unit.  Monitor and follow-up on the progress of DDA item counts.  Work on process improvement initiatives within the Control Division.  Assist with client conversions and de-conversions.  Participate in more global and high profile projects and/or initiatives both Control specific and inter-departmental.  Prepare item count reports for clients each week.  Sign off on adjustment requests.  Participate in the hiring process of new employees.  Administer disciplinary action when necessary.  Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for each staff member within group.  Attend client PIC calls when required.

Management of the day-to-day running Operation teams – (team of approx. 7/8 Operations Executives)

The main purposes of the role are:

 

·         First line staff management, including staff recruitment, development, retention, discipline, appraisal, etc.

·         Maintaining and enhancing the quality and throughput of the team.

·         Continually work to improve departmental process and procedures

·         Ensure daily workflow is effectively being prioritized

·         Ensure all service level standards are being achieved within client contractual guidelines

 

Additionally, the jobholder will, on occasion, be required to represent the department during visit of Compliance Officers, Auditors, Trustees / Depositaries and Management Companies. They will also be expected to participate in various projects that affect the department and deputise for the Manager as necessary.
