Job Description


Demonstrates expert proficiency in the design, development and implementation of data models, data warehousing, ETL processes, reporting and analytics capabilities, and database technologies and tools.

Develops and extends data architecture to support increasing user demands and application requirements.

Provides knowledge and expertise of enterprise data to lead the process of modeling the business and delivering value to the business users.

Develops logical database design through in-depth understanding of business needs and functions and available data sources.

Applies knowledge of target database technologies to develop efficient physical models from logical design.

Designs and develops correct, complete, and resilient ETL processes.

Provides expertise in reviewing and explaining data models.

Consults with business to resolve complex data issues.

Assesses and evaluates risk to understand the implications of design decisions and new technologies.

Provides occasional operational support to address processing issues.

Consults with Database Administration to tune database performance, track performance and capacity, and resolve complex issues.

Works with Production Support and Technical Services to ensure proper operation and resiliency of processing environment.

Uses expertise to evaluate market trends and provide input into the selection of tools and any necessary migration into the company's environment.

Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Leads and mentors other team members to develop team capability.






Principal Architect, Data Management->> Responsible for the delivery of high quality data architectural solutions, including enterprise and line of business architectures, while ensuring compliance with company policies. Initiates and drives processes that unleash the value of the Company's data assets to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace. Strategizes and contributes to enterprise level technological initiatives on data governance, management and usage. Defines and implements data architecture for corporate data governance and database design principles. Ensures data management business solution deliveries. Adheres to the established data architecture methodologies and standards, and in compliance with company policy. Identifies organization-wide initiatives and makes recommendations for the use of data warehouse technology. Works closely with senior management to educate and to articulate resource requirements necessary to promote warehousing goals. Oversees warehousing activities of the organization to assure the strategic goals of the organization are met, and to assure integration of corporate data constructs (logical and physical database designs). Works toward architectures enterprise data solutions. Performs enterprise planning and designing solutions for emerging business and complex technology environments, including data warehousing. Identifies and recommends ways to drive more value out of the company's data. Designs stable and flexible high performance database solutions, maximizing data reuse and avoiding data redundancy, according to the current and anticipated business rules, following SDLC. Works with other stakeholders in optimizing database solutions. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives.


Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 10-12 years of experience in data management services required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus



Additional Qualifications


5-10 years of experience in data modeling, data warehousing, ETL, data entity analysis, logical and relational database design.

Experience with Informatica, Vertica, Oracle, and Unix/Linux/Shell Scripting preferred.

Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

Experience with Finance and Accounting data is a plus.
