Corporate Accountant - Lead Analyst, Accounting

Job Description

The individual will support the Revenue and Investment Services Accounting team, specifically the Treasury Services and Wealth Management businesses.  Responsibilities would include but not limited to: (1) perform month-end close procedures which include preparation of complex unbilled accruals and nonrecurring adjustments, review certain journal entries and other work prepared by our Chennai Global Delivery Center (GDC) accounting staff, analyze revenue accrual variances and identify any exceptions; (2) support various Record to Report activities such as SOX work streams, internal and external audits, assist with assessment and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, product/business initiatives, process automation projects and system conversions; (3) ensure timely update of internal accounting process/workflow documentations; (4) manage responsibilities assigned to GDC accounting staff; and (5)  address accounting inquiries from business and operations, and assist them in resolving issues that impact financial statements.  


Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Accounting concentration preferred. 3-5 years of total work experience preferred; knowledge of GAAP and accounting and finance concepts and analysis techniques preferred. Experience designing financial models and accounting processes preferred. Preferred Experience:  1-2 years of public accounting experience in financial services preferred.  2-3 years of experience working the full accounting cycle from transaction through consolidation and close to Financial Reporting, good understanding of internal control concepts, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with accounting applications such as PeopleSoft and advanced Excel proficiency. Minimum Language Skills:  Strong written and oral communications skills in English.
