Job Description

The job holder participates in the technical design, development, and implementation of applications on the platform for Wealth Management. S/he utilizes Apex and Visualforce to develop custom solutions to business challenges, integrate disparate systems, and writes technical documentation for all deliverables. S/he also utilizes industry best practices to write new programs of moderate to high complexity. S/he develops and makes technical recommendations and presents options that support organizational needs.


Job Purpose: We're looking for a senior developer to join a strong technology team on CRM development projects. The long term strategy of Salesforce/ENAGAGE/CRM for the line of business is to develop a mission critical application that supports the full range of services provided by Wealth Management and supports the activities critical to maintain these relationships. We have several business critical initiatives for our CRM platform that cannot effectively start or move forward due to the current staffing levels and high reliance on offshore development resources. Furthermore, we expect more regulatory related requirements that will result in numerous enhancements to existing applications. We require competent in house resources that will help us implement application systems for user experience, scale, resiliency, operability, extensibility and performance. Additionally, the position must be filled at this time to maintain timely execution of remediation efforts.


Technical Qualifications: • Experience working in a distributed development environment
• Experience writing Apex, SOQL, Visualforce components
• Familiar with web services (SOAP, REST)
• Experience with Lightning UI
• Experience with declarative configuration on
• Experience with team development tools
• Experience in Application support – problem diagnosis and resolution
• Expertise in industry standard development methodologies
• Preference can be given to candidates with certification(s)


Sr. Specialist Developer->> Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.





Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.


S/he must have in-depth knowledge of Apex, SOQL, VisualForce, SOAP based web services, Eclipse IDE, and Dataloader. S/he must also have in-depth experience with the platform and the Sales Cloud application. Job holder must be knowledgeable about development tools for the platform. S/he must be experienced with new development as well as defect repair.  S/he must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn new application systems and technology.  Need the ability of accurately break down complex application designs into component deliverables and estimate design and development timelines. Must have proficiency in programming languages and has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
