Sr. Specialist Developer, .NET, SQL Server

 

Primary Responsibilities: As a .NET Developer, you will assist in the development, implementation and management of technology-based business solutions relating to web based data analytics and workflow applications. You will be coding, testing and implementing configuration changes and assisting in the design of software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements. Additionally, you will provide production level application support to both internal and external users of the solutions.

 

Skill Requirements:

·        Supporting the technical design process by working with the business in the analysis of application requirements.

·        Create technical specifications and test plans

·        Coding and testing application modules.

·        Maintain existing software systems by identifying and correcting software defects

·        Ability to troubleshoot and debug production related issues

·        Extensive experience in but not limited to:

o   ASP.NET

o   C#/VB.NET

o   SQL Server; T-SQL, J-Query

o   HTML, CSS, JavaScript

·        Experience with AngularJS and Bootstrap is a plus

·        Investigate and develop skills in new technologies

·        Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support. Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Contributes to defining time tables and project plans. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs. Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools. Proposes innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
