Job Description

The BNY Mellon Portfolio Compliance team performs automated compliance testing of ’40 Act mutual funds to ensure compliance with investment requirements established by the IRS, SEC and the individual fund prospectuses.
The Senior Analyst will work independently with their staff to identify and validate compliance exceptions, make recommendations, bring issues to a logical conclusion, and effectively communicate and support conclusions to their Manager.   The Supervisor will serve as the focal point for all client communications and respond to inquiries within a timely manner.  They will work closely with CCOs, auditors, tax directors, and internal teams.
In addition to the daily oversight of compliance exceptions, the Supervisor will be responsible for onboarding new clients/funds, reviewing fund prospectuses and SAIs, working with staff to identify testing requirements, and setting up test parameters within the compliance system.  They will ensure that daily operating procedures and client specific procedures are well documented and adhered to.  The Supervisor will participate in opportunities for workflow improvements and process efficiencies

Tax Reporting and Compliance - IC1 Assists with performance of calculations for internal and/or external clients and completion of tax reporting or other regulatory filing requirements to ensure compliance with state and national regulations. Assists with the implementation of client plans for the tax and/or regulatory cycle and ensures deadlines are met. Gathers data and documentation to complete standard filings. Determines liabilities, withholdings, and other calculations for internal or external clients. May answer routine questions from clients regarding tax and/or regulatory calculations and reporting. Assists clients in addressing tax and regulatory questions posed by their investors. No direct reports. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Supports a selected number of clients. 


Bachelors degree in a business discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 0-3 years of total work experience preferred. Tax reporting and analysis experience preferred.
