The Senior Global Settlements Specialist is responsible for ensuring executed trades are settled successfully with the custodians and brokers. Must have working experience settling Domestic and International Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives (Futures, Forwards, Options, Swaps) and FX trades. Specific job responsibilities include the management, communication, escalation, and monitoring of fails, claims, and overdrafts. Work closely with Middle Office Operations, Trading, and Reconciliation teams to perform timely investigation and resolution of failing settlements. He/She will advice management of potential risk items such as buy-ins and aged items which may involve a claim against the organization. Assist with assessing custodian performance with regard to trade settlement processes and customer service performance. The incumbent must have working settlement experience with one or more of the following asset types: Fixed Income, Equities, FX, Futures, Options, and Swaps; Knowledge of automated trade processing and demonstrate strong understanding of life cycle of trade; Excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to details; Ability to work effectively in a project team setting yet able to work independently with minimal supervision; Detail-oriented with strong analytical and quantitative skills. The incumbent should also have experience with the following systems is a strong plus: PORTIA, ALERT, DTC, Bloomberg, CRD, BBH. Additionally, the incumbent should have a strong understanding of industry requirements for confirmation, affirmation, revisions, and deadlines and be able to utilize Excel, Word, MS Project, Visio, Bloomberg, to analyze and present data. Should have experience working in a high trade volume and multi product environment.
Qualifications The candidate must have a full grasp of the Life cycle of the products we trade and must possess a Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business or Finance and 3-5 years of Back Office Settlement experience at an Investment Management, Broker dealer, or Prime Broker organization
