Job Description

The desired candidate will work as a business analyst and project manager, supporting the Treasury Cash Management and Liquidity areas, in the Corporate Treasury Technology team.  The Corporate Treasury Technology team supports BNY Mellon’s fixed income and securities finance portfolio, which is a significant portion of the firm’s overall balance sheet.  The candidate will liaise with various business groups including corporate treasury front, middle and back office teams as well as various risk and enterprise technology systems in BNY Mellon.  The business analyst project manager primary objective is to design and implement technology solutions cost-effectively for projects or a program on time and within budget.  Perform all the end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation for projects of high business complexity (involving multiple systems interfaces that are highly visible to the organization).  Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technology groups and secures, leads, motivates and inspires the internal & external resources required to deliver the program.            Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate with the various business and technology teams to drive several key projects for critical business and regulatory initiatives in Corporate Treasury
  • Groom user stories with the team and manage all user stories into sprints.
  • Work with cross functional teams to obtain agreements all business and technology groups.
  • Creates and reviews artifacts and workflow diagrams for projects of high business complexity (involving multiple systems interfaces that are highly visible to the organization). 
  • Analyze complex data issues and work with developers to create a design utilizing the latest technologies.
  • Advisor to developers and providing sound judgements in a wide variety of business and technical issues.
  • Lead, execute, and coordinate the development of multiple critical tasks, often in parallel, and work directly with all stakeholders.
  • Adhere to BNY Mellon’s DLC process as well as manage issues and risks to closure.
  • Analyze complex data issues and work with developers to create a design utilizing the latest technologies.
  • Document clear data mapping to data sources as well as creating formulas for required calculations to communicate
The candidate will have the following experience, knowledge, and skills (12+ years):
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of global payments and systems to settle financial transactions
  • Experience supporting a fixed income trading desk
  • Experience in managing small enhancements and projects
  • Experience in current and future state workflow diagrams
  • Experience in data analysis across multiple systems
  • Experience with various Agile and SDLC processes and methodologies as well as authoring the SDLC artifacts
  • Experience as Scrum Master or Product Owner
  • Experience as a Project manager
  • Understanding of C#, .Net, SQL, XML, SWIFT, FTP, messaging and reporting tools
  • Outstanding analytical skills so business needs are translated into functional and technical requirements.

Principal Project/Program Manager->> Leads and provides direction and guidance for a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to client specifications. Manages and oversees the end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation for projects of high business complexity (involving multiple systems interfaces that are highly visible to the organization). Defines and manages the lifecycle from project initiation through to program closure. Manages and resolves risks, issues and dependencies. Measures and monitors program actuals, forecasts and budgets and updates plans with accurate, up-to-date information in a timely manner. Follows financial standards & processes (e.g. monthly external revenue accruals, software capitalization, procurement & external payments). Reports financial information and status to the required executive level through steering committees. Secures, leads, motivates and inspires the internal & external resources required to deliver the program. Establishes the program s governance (e.g. sponsors, approvers, stakeholders). Manages Program Office Resources. May have formal management responsibility for Program Team members. Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technical groups to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Has regular contact among peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations. Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy. Ensures project delivery is in conformance with company methodologies and standards. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives Bachelor's degree, preferably in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is beneficial 10 - 12 years of related project management experience required, experience with technology or financial services industry is a plus.
