Reporting into the Distribution and Marketing team within BNY Mellon Asset Management Technology, the Jobholder is responsible for requirements gathering, functional design and architecture of application systems across multi-platform distributed systems that support corporate service departments such as Compliance and Enterprise Data Solutions. S/he interviews business stakeholders, translates business requirements to process and data requirements, collaborates with architects on infrastructure and application design, and creates appropriate documentation. S/he also helps resolve high impact system problems affecting primary application or across multiple platforms.
Minimum 6 to 8 years relevant experience required. Jobholder has knowledge of a similar organization’s total computing environment, major IT department roles, responsibilities, daily operations and business impact. S/he must also be experienced in developing, maintaining and utilizing information repositories and able to conform to operational standards for managing information assets.
Proficiency with several of the following is a must:
Analysis & design techniques (i.e. dataflow diagrams, etc.)
Data modeling / Relational databases
SQL / Stored Procedures
Background with any of the following technologies is a plus:
Visio / ERwin / Microsoft Project
Scripting Languages (Python, PERL, etc.)
Jobholder must be an effective oral and written communicator who is experienced in preparing and delivering informational and decision-seeking presentations to individuals or groups, internally or externally. S/he must be knowledgeable in various software development life cycle methodologies including Agile; project management experience is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of the asset management industry is highly preferred.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred, 8-10 years of experience in providing consulting advice to senior IT and business management required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
