The Quantitative Research Associate is responsible for performing fundamental primary research as a part of the investment process for the Portfolio Management Quant Team. The associate will be in charge of the daily update and validation of the quantitative models. This will include working with the research group to implement enhancements in production and with the data engineers to maintain and upgrade the production model infrastructure and database. Conduct ad-hoc analysis and quantitative projects. Develop and automate analytical reporting needs. 

 

Important skills for the role will include the ability to gather large amounts of information, decipher what is important and communicate that information in a timely and succinct manner.  The candidate should be comfortable with mathematics and/or basic statistical concepts to help them present their findings concisely.  Other key attributes are a high level of intellectual curiosity, the ability to work independently and with minimal direction, while still maintaining a high level of productivity.  A desire to dig beneath the surface and understand the true drivers of industries and companies will be necessary for success. 

 

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree is required and 1-5 years of work experience is preferred.  College or master degree in computer science with a specialization in finance preferred.  Financial industry experience is not a requirement although the candidate should have a history of success in his/her academic and/or work history.
