Job Description

Group Manager, Software Configuration/Release Management->> Manages a medium to large-sized or multiple small SCM teams. Is responsible for defining the overall methodology for assigned projects. Plans and manages multiple SCM activities.Leads technical and managerial staff with regard to SCM activities. Provides SCM resource estimates and assigns appropriate resources. Structures and monitors activities based upon approved project methodologies. Collects and analyzes data and produces progress reports. Directs changes to processes to improve efficiencies and outcomes.Interacts with varied levels of management and development groups in support of the SCM effort. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages one or multiple SCM teams. Contributes to the achievement of team objectives. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is preferred. 10+ years of experience in a systems SCM environment, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

Manage and or interact with multiple teams. Specify, design and implement a revised end to end DevOps culture encompassing principles of software configuration management.

Interact with varied levels of management and development groups in support of the DevOps culture and effort.

Direct, motivate and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. 

 

Position will report into the SCM team which is responsible for Pershing application change management. SCM’s service and functions are performed through an in-house automated system.  Role will include bridging any gaps between existing process and systems to the desired end state of a DevOps framework capable of incorporating automated testing tools, security tools, JIRA integration, and Cloud support. In addition, management dashboards, development team reports, and SonarQube code quality enhancements are required.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is preferred, 12+ years of experience in a managed and controlled environment.

Technical skills sought include Basic Linux,  Windows Server, Java, JavaScript and SQL.  “Plus” skills include Mainframe, SQL Server, GIT, Selenium or other testing tool, Build systems (Maven, ANT), Deployment/Configuration (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).  Experience in the securities or financial services industry is also a plus.
