Job Description

Job Purpose:

 

A role for an experienced financial marketing manager, with a sound understanding of the broader marketing mix, investment products, German regulations and financial promotion rules.

 

Responsibility for regional marketing for Germany in conjunction with German sales team and based in Germany. This will include the development and implementation, with regular review of the country specific marketing plan, with contribution to the channel’s distribution strategy, of BNY Mellon’s products and services.

 

This role requires establishing a close working relationship with the German sales team, client support and centralised London based marketing teams such as Planning and Projects, Marketing Operations, Editorial and fund information teams. This will involve travel to London ad-hoc.

 

Be an active member of the EMEA Marketing team, champion the sharing of ideas and build an understanding of the overall marketing plan and its activities for the business as a whole.

Key Responsibilities:

 

Regional Strategy & Planning

  • Work with the Planning and projects team and the regional distribution team to challenge existing marketing strategies for the country with the aim to improve sales success.

  • Ensure good communications and support on an on-going basis and regularly share activity plans from across the sales and marketing teams to leverage the various elements of the marketing mix

  • Work with the various Sales teams to ensure marketing programme and deliverables for Germany are in line with business goals.

  • Where possible utilise synergies and cross-over opportunities within the business to help maximise sales opportunities.

  • Develop productive working relationships with the relevant Sales teams/country heads, ensuring that they are kept up-to-date with work in progress.

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the local marketing programmes to support the German business.

  • Identify opportunities through working with appropriate local market agencies and services in developing and implementing effective plans to achieve business objectives.

  • Develop a thorough knowledge of the country and local sales requirements, through working alongside sales teams, participating in relevant internal meetings, attending client meetings or industry events if appropriate and reading relevant press / market research.

Marketing Communications

  • Liaise with the rest of the marketing team and other departments if necessary, to co-ordinate and/or leverage from various activities.

  • Drive marketing themed communications / campaigns through sales teams / specific countries including:

  • Identifying marketing theme for communication opportunities and agree on a communication strategy & programme

  • Co-ordinate the themed communication effort with the relevant marketing team members and other departments if necessary, providing clear support requirements and deadlines.

  • Measure and report on feedback from these themed communications

  • Develop and maintain relevant, timely and compliant local language marketing communications – on and offline.

  • Ensure consistency and standards of support and materials provided to Sales/Sales Support

  • Ensure adherence to specific compliance regulations by country in working with both the IM EMEA as well as Meriten compliance teams.

  • Champion the roll out of marketing efficiencies such as Marketing Automation and CRM in Germany to ensure effective and targeted communications for the region.

Production

  • Provide clear requirements, specifications and deadlines for production of marketing presentations/literature and event support.

  • Regional budget planning and management

Qualifications

Job Specific Competencies:

  • Must have drive and enthusiasm
  • Willingness to find and deliver solutions to overcome challenges
  • German language native or fluent bilingual German and English. (Demonstration of both German and English language is required for this role)
