Job Description

Job Purpose:

 

In conjunction with the Conducting Officer, manage the Management Company Services Functions to deliver effective operational oversight of the company’s Irish and Luxembourg mutual and alternative fund business including initial and ongoing oversight of the company’s appointed service providers   BNYMFM-Lux is authorised by the Commission de Surveillance du Sector Financier (CSSF) as a UCITS management company and Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM). The Firm currently acts as an AIFM to a range of open and closed-ended Luxembourg-domiciled AIFs invested in specialist sub-investment grade corporate credit strategies with AUM of approx. €7bn. Following the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union, it is intended that the Firm will provide cross-border management company services to BNY Mellon’s UCITS ranges in Ireland with AUM of approx..€30bn AUM. It is also envisaged that the Firm will host centralised distribution activities within Europe (ex-UK) and enter into investment management agreements with clients based in the EU/EEA to provide discretionary portfolio management services sub-delegated to other BNY Mellon group companies. It is intended that the Firm will establish Branch offices in France (Paris), Germany (Frankfurt), Italy (Milan), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Spain (Madrid) and Sweden (Stockholm).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage in conjunction with the Risk and Compliance Function a programme of ongoing due diligence of its appointed service providers, in particular the investment managers and central administration functions, through onsite and desk based reviews to ensure the company can continue to meet all its regulatory / statutory obligations.
  • Ongoing maintenance of SLAs and KPIs together with monthly service reviews , weekly meetings and resolution of daily BAU operational issues in respect of the outsourced Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency and Share Class Hedging providers.
  • Manage delivery of all statutory Fund Report and Accounts (including audit liaison) together with any other statutory, regulatory, tax reporting required by the Funds to meet their local obligations.
  • Oversee day-to-day valuation / pricing oversight and participate in the Joint Fair Value Pricing Committee.
  • Effective management of the relationship with Depositaries and oversight of any associated Securities Lending Programme.
  • Build strong working relationships with the UK Director Fund Operations and Governance to leverage the overall strategic relationship with BNYM Investment Servicing and ensure the company can deliver efficiencies through access to specialist Tax, Class Action and Expense processing functions.
  • Oversee registration of the company’s funds and paying agent network including new arrangements as required by the IMEMEA Product Development function.
  • Provide strong operational support for the local Client Service executives and build a strong working relationship with the Head of IMEMEA Client Service.
  • Ensure effective maintenance of the company’s Distributor and Client records including ensuring in conjunction with both the Risk and Compliance Functions and the Head of Client Services the company meets all of its AML, KYC, Anti-Terrorist Financing, SOX requirements and its ongoing regulatory obligations in respect of Distributor oversight.
  • Assist in the preparing of Fund board reporting as required by the Fund Governance Teams.
  • Provide oversight and development of team members.
