Job Description

Sr.Group Manager, Project/Program Management Manages large or multiple teams of project managers who are the primary contact for clients and groups within the organization for medium to large scale projects. The team is responsible for end to end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue / risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation. Serves as a liaison between clients and internal technical groups to ensure delivery of medium scale to large scale projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Has regular contact among peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations. Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy. Ensures project delivery is in conformance with company methodologies and standards. Acts as a subject matter expert and provides guidance on complex technical issues. Proactively manages multiple teams of project managers. Leads status meetings for major projects and facilitates risk mitigation and resolution of more complex issues. Directs recruitment efforts and manages and develops teams to maximize their collective contributions. Motivates lower level managers to maximize their contributions and encourage professional growth. Manages multiple project management teams. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives. Advanced degree, preferably in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 10 + years of related project management experience required, experience with technology and/or the financial services industry is a plus. Prior experience managing projects of 10+ team members required

Qualifications

·         Establish and drive PMO standards for the program and project managers across Shared Corporate Services & Client Service Delivery Technology (Hood’s) organization, includin

.      Supply and demand management — resource     utilization/optimization

.      Reporting — status communications: within our organization ; client/stakeholder ; central CIO & CFO teams

.      Planning — roadmaps, prioritization, timelines, cost estimation, annual planning, etc.

.      KPIs — definition and tracking of key performance indicators (transform to be more metrics driven)

.     Vendor management

·    Lead project/program manage strategic top-of-the-house initiatives (e.g. Greenfield)

.      Monitors health of program delivery

.      Tracks overall program-level status, risks, issues and dependencies

.      Proactively addresses impediments

.      Thinking strategically and tactically along with being innovative, an exemplary leader, an excellent communicator, collaborator, and influencer, are essential to being successful in the role.

.      Leading distributed cross-functional teams and navigating large matrixed organizations should not be an issue

·         Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and communicate complex technical concepts to all levels of technical and non-technical people


Advanced degree, preferably in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 10 + years of related project management experience required, experience with technology and/or the financial services industry is a plus.
