Solutions Consulting - M4 Manages the Solutions Consulting function for a business unit and has oversight of the full complement of solutions within a key segment. The incumbents are responsible for strategically developing and growing the scope of the Solutions Consulting business and acts as the face of the business to clients. Must act as an advocate for consultants that are being managed, ensuring they develop the necessary technical and client facing competencies to increase the value they can add to a given project. Establishes the strategic approach for solutions consulting across the function and work with senior leaders to ensure functional strategies tie to business unit objectives. Guides staff in building adoption and utilization of firm solutions in the marketplace and ensures that the team stays on top of the competitive landscape and the industry environment. Has in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of firm solutions, the marketplace and client needs. In collaboration with senior leaders, determines the key solutions of strategic importance to the firm and the long term goals for the function. Manages the solution life cycle from development through marketing and the sales process to client engagement and utilization. Identifies opportunities and/or gaps across existing firm solutions. Identifies areas for enhancement or new/innovative features, conducts feasibility assessments, and determines the most viable options to pursue. Collaborates with senior leaders to implement. Determines overall strategic positioning and targeted client segments for assigned solutions(s). Establishes the criteria for solutions evaluation, pricing, promotion, distribution strategies and competitive differentiators. Demonstrates significant external activity in the market by conducting speaking engagements, liaising with industry and professional groups, and networking with C-Suite and other strategic decision makers at clients and prospects. Develops firm intellectual capital around solutions and consulting approach to share with the market. Collaborates with peer managers in Relationship Management, Business Development, Account Management, Product Development and Marketing teams to deliver on sales and market share goals. Responsible for ensuring that all work conducted by subordinate team aligns to necessary regulatory requirements. Assists staff in navigating Risk, Legal or Compliance requirements. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Provides feedback at the most critical times. Manages multiple teams. Work is accomplished through subordinate managers. Takes primary responsibility for sponsoring and recruiting resources. Develops and oversees the achievement of functional objectives and ensures they reflect and support business unit objectives. Manages the financial and human resources for the function.
Qualifications Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 10-15 years of total work experience is preferred with at least 3-5 years in management. Securities or financial product experience preferred. Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
