Job Description

  We are looking for a User Interface Engineer with front-end development expertise to deliver best-in-class solutions across multiple device types (desktop, tablet, mobile, etc.). The role is based at the BNY Mellon offices in New York City as part of the Wealth Management Technology group. Typical daily activities include: working closely with a global team utilizing an agile development process, building responsive web applications, developing innovative UIs using cutting edge technologies, and brainstorming exciting new ideas and concepts. Leading other UI developers, guiding them and also managing the development tasks. Knowledge of overall application architecture back-end components – such as application servers, database server, etc. is important. The ideal candidate will have strong working experience with Core Javascript, Angular 5 and above, TypeScript, CSS3, HTML5, Responsive and Adaptive design concepts, transitions, PWA, Web Performance profiling and tuning techniques. Candidate will be an innovative individual and will have strong understanding of designing wires and graphic design concepts. Principal Developer

 

The job holder manages the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform distributed application systems. S/he analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems. S/he also ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation.
Primary job responsibilities shall include:
• Leads several junior and senior developers in development of client facing Wealth Management application
• Hands-on design and development in Java, Spring
• Participate in design, architect and build of scalable, distributed services and applications that integrate across different technologies
• Research into new, emerging and cutting edge
• Participation in Agile based software development model
• Full Stack Java Developer with Strong Service Oriented Architectures.
• Willing to learn new skills.
• At least 5 years of  Java/J2EE experience.
• Restful Web services development experience.
• Good experience with oracle or any relational db experience
• Linux/Unix scripting experience
• Mule or an ESB experience is preferred.
• Good trouble shooting experience.
Have a good working understanding of project management and project development life cycle

 

Consults with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support. Provides comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs. Evaluates compliance with the organization's technology standards. Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications. Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group. Guides and consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services. Participates in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies. Advocates for innovative, creative technology solutions. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or Equivalent work experience required, 10-12 years of experience in software development required
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
