Job Description

  We have an opportunity for a Compensation Principal Consultant on our Compensation & Benefits team in New York.  As a member of this team, you will work on implementation and execution of pay programs to support the Wealth Management business groups at BNY Mellon.  You will partner with both Human Resources Business Partners and respective business leaders to execute on these plans. In this role, you will lead the management efforts of the Center of Excellence for the Wealth Management businesses in the delivery of the global compensation programs, policies, and processes to ensure overall competitiveness and alignment with both the business objectives and broader corporate needs top of mind. You will develop the strategy and approach for large, complex projects or initiatives in for the Wealth Management businesses globally. Examples include the year-end pay review process, including incentive plan design, developing budgets, timelines, planning guides.  You will ensure compliance with budgets and other business performance or risk management objectives.  You will have ultimate responsibility for final awards approval.  A large part of your role will include financial incentive forecasting and workforce planning analysis in partnership with the business and HRBP’s.   In your role, you will work closely with both HR business partners and Business managers to provide guidance on all compensation matters with an understanding of how they impact other rewards, HR programs or policies.  You will develop recommendations with HR Operations and Finance on how to streamline compensation processes and related reporting.  Lastly, you will develop protocols to support organizational change and development by partnering with line of business managers and HRBPs to create and apply consistent, transparent job structures and families.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required   Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of total work experience in the area of compensation preferred. 
  • Prior experience implementing & executing on highly complex pay programs to support Wealth Management businesses highly desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical and legal aspects of compensation and HR preferred.
  • Must have technical mastery of applications such as Excel, Access, HR systems, etc.
  • Superior excel and access skills
  • Large scale, financial services compensation program experience is highly desired
  • Strong relationship skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple key priorities
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Superior analytical acumen
