Job Description

1. Attend and participate in the BRC Committee Meetings and related regional meetings.

 

2. Assist the Business in the event of an emergency and provide a point of contact into the Business for emergency situations. For example, when ERO sends information to the BRC, it is your responsibility to distribute the information to your recovery team, management, and business, as appropriate.

 

3. Assist in the assigning of an appropriate Plan Owner.

A. Each plan also requires a decision maker, for both recovery planning and execution. If the Plan Owner is not the decision maker, ensure that an appropriate decision maker is involved in the Business Recovery process.

B. Decision Maker will be accountable to direct their respective team(s) if/when alternate procedures/solutions need to be implemented and they must have the authority to initiate the appropriate recovery response to an incident.

 

4. Communicate effectively with plan owners and business incident management teams to insure compliance with the Global Business Continuity program, corporate policies, and related initiatives (cross region, cyber, vendor, etc.).

 

5. Ensure that required business continuity documentation, such as the following, are completed in the Crisis Management System (CM) and in line with existing requirements.

 

6. Ensure that plans are properly rated for all business functions, including the high impact functions with a criticality of Critical, Extremely Critical, or Super Critical; contain all required sections, and reflect current conditions.

 

7. Ensure that plans and strategies are appropriate, cohesive and viable, and could be used to recover key functions within required time frames.

 

8. Review and perform preliminary quality review for the Recovery Strategy Statement, BC Plans, Alternate Procedures, and Test Results prior to obtaining signoff.

 

9. Where viable, coordinate testing process with critical vendors, as defined in Scenario VI of the Recovery Strategy Statement.

 

10. Ensure that test scripts are developed and direct a program for testing business recovery plans. Ensure plan owners are executing appropriate tests, capturing the results of the tests, and assessing the adequacy of the recovery plans.

 

11. Solicit input from the Plan Owner, Recovery Team, and the Business Incident Management Team/Decision Maker to develop recovery priorities, time lines, and strategy for sequence of recovery for the business, including impact of all interdependencies.

 

12. Ensure that plans are accurately maintained, communicating all changes to the appropriate groups and individuals.

 

13. Plans should be updated (or new plans created) before a new or significantly modified process, service or product goes live.

 

14. Ensure that all newly created or transferred business functions and/or acquisitions are integrated in the Crisis Management System

 

15. Ensure that all business continuity information is properly updated in the Crisis Management System

 

16. Ensure that training is provided to Recovery Team/Emergency Management Team and All Staff and ensure that the Plan Owner reviews and revises the training template. The Business specific training is combined with the BKU Training.

 

17. Work with other corporate support teams to ensure the recovery requirements of the Business can be met on a regional basis.
