AIS Assistant Manager - Financial Reporting


Position Summary:

The Financial Reporting Department within BNY Mellon is responsible for the preparation of annual and semi-annual financial statements for our clients and for the management of all aspects of the audit process. The Department has responsibility for a broad range of funds and produces financial statements under FRS 102, IFRS, Lux GAAP and US GAAP. The Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting, will be responsible for building and maintaining key relationships with AIS clients and their auditors. They will be responsible for overseeing and preparing the draft financial statements for a range of funds admininstered by BNY Mellon.The encumbent will directly manage delivery of service to AIS clients which will involve liaison with external clients, investment managers, custodians and auditors, and will represent the BNYM financial reporting team at client board meetings. The encumbent will also provide an element of sales support and will be required to attend presentations.


Key Responsibilities:

Client/Audit Management - Responsibility for the provision of a proactive Financial Reporting service to clients, understanding the service requirements of all clients. The encumbent will always seek to partner with clients and develop workable solutions that are in line with BNYM policy. Build and maintain relationships with Lux based audit firms.

Service Delivery- Primary responsibility for ensuring that Financial Reporting deliverables are consistently delivered in an accurate and timely manner to AIS clients. Responsible for high standard of service delivery to clients within agreed timeframes. Maintain excellent client relationships.

Control Environment- Ensure adherence to internal and external policy and regulation. Ensure all errors, breaches or client incidents are reported in line with current procedures.

Ensure files are completed, signed, filed and distributed to all parties within prescribed deadline

Buisness Expertise:

This role needs to understand how the various teams in BNY Mellon interact, to produce the final Net Asset Values, and the importance of filing of financial statements with regualtors, stock exchanges etc, and distribution of the financial statements to investors in a timely fashion.

Problem Solving:

Familiarisation with various accounting standards is a basic requirement. Lux GAAP and IFRS experience is a requisite. Interpretation of those standards need to be applied to the financial statement preparation process.

Nature and Area of Impact:

The financial statements are provided to the Fund's management, and also to the external auditors where applicable. Any problems with the financial statements could have a reputational and/or financial impact on BNY Mellon.

Interpersonal Skills:

This role interacts internally with the Valuations teams, Transfer Agency teams and with the Client Services teams. It interacts externally with the clients, the clients management, the Client's Corporate Secretarial department, the external auditors and with relevant regulatory bodies.
