Regulatory Solutions Team


 


The Team provides an analysis function for the EMEA Regulatory Change Team which is based in Manchester, UK. The team is led by the EMEA Head of Change.


 


The Regulatory Change Team comprises Project Managers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts and Report Developers. The team is functionally part of Finance, but works closely with IT. Colleagues are based in India and the US as well as stakeholders across Europe.


 


 


Job Purpose:


 


The Team provides an analysis function for the EMEA Regulatory Change Team. The role will involve working with stakeholders across EMEA to analyse, understand and document all aspects of regulatory change.


 


Analysis will typically take the form of


 


  1. Pure Business Analysis – Working with business users to elicit, refine and document requirements for systems, solutions and projects (30%)

  2. Data Analysis – Analysing data requirements for reporting. Sourcing data from upstream systems. Understanding data flows and identifying data gaps (30%)

  3. Regulatory Analysis – Analysing regulatory reporting changes to understand the impact. Analysing changes to products, business lines and balance sheet mix to understand the impact on reporting. (20%)

  4. Operational Impact Analysis – Working with BAU teams to understand the impact of regulatory reporting changes on their processes. Ensuring requirements are understood and documented and solutions agreed to support operational readiness (20%)

     

    In addition, the Finance Business Analyst will be expected to contribute to overall Data Governance Strategy and Systems Strategy.

     

    The role would suit a qualified accountant with previous analysis experience who wishes to move into a more data and systems driven role.

     

    Role Requirements:

     


  • Deadline driven with effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to understand and critically assess financial business processes.
  • Ability to focus on detail whilst retaining a holistic view.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Aptitude to identify and evaluate key business risks and controls.
  • Ability to perform data analysis to support issues users may encounter in their report preparation.
  • Proactive self-starter with ability to manage own workload and customer expectations.


Qualifications


Key Skills


 


  • Qualified accountant.
  • Experience of working in an analysis capacity (business/data preferred).
  • Financial Services background.
  • Understanding of MS Office tools.


 


Secondary Skills


 


  • SQL or data mining ability is a bonus
  • Regulatory knowledge
  • Banking product concepts (Securities, Loans, Repos, Collateral etc)
