Job Description

The incumbent is responsible to perform many key functions, examples of which are: maintenance of mission-critical interest rate and product features in the Bank Control sub-application, mail teller, open new accounts, customer record and deposit account maintenance, monetary transfers, cashier's check reconcilement, Cash Manager application reconcilement, check fraud suspect review, document scanning and indexing, IRA processing and support, EFT Fraud claim processing, and general ledger accounting entries and balancing. These activities typically include a financial component and involve depositing, controlling or moving funds, both internally and externally. Reviews others' work for accuracy and provides feedback on errors. Perform financial and/or regulatory report review and follow-up, such as Reg D Excessive Transaction monitoring or other banking regulatory compliance functions. All processes must strictly follow tight, often complex procedures designed to comply with internal bank policies and regulatory requirements. Most of these functions require development of expertise in, and knowledge of, mission-critical applications such as FIS and CDS, BNY Mellon's deposit accounting systems. The incumbent will also be called upon to train new team members.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will typically have a college degree and/or the equivalent of 3 - 5 years of work experience in Deposit Servicing or banking. Strong PC skills. Demonstrated interpersonal/communication skills. The ability to prioritize work. Analytical skills with emphasis on personal computer applications. Characteristics of a successful candidate includes a consistently positive approach, flexibility, and the ability to focus on detailed work for extended periods of time throughout the day. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate successfully both in a team environment and independently. The individual will work in a fast paced environment which requires processing and meeting deadlines and high volumes.
